The more pressing issue is that CNN's Anderson Cooper spoke to Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, via 'hologram'. Could it be that this is the most lasting achievement of the 2008 presidential campaign?

In my first post, I mocked people who post links to their favourite articles in the too oft mistaken belief that others will care. Let my resistance, which lasted a cumulative 5 hours, be a warning as to Blogging's seductive powers.

The Atlantic has a wonderful article about Multiple-Personalities. Not in the sense of the disorder, but in that each of us has multiple 'selves' competing for power. These selves have different interests. My short-term self might want to play games now, but my long term self wants to do well on a test later. Where it gets interesting is in the tricks one self uses to 'bind' another to its intentions.

Some people choose to start their blogging careers with an insightful essay. Not me. Intellectual discussions have no place on the Internet. In fact I will do the polar-opposite. Behold the Captchas I entered as I coaxed Google towards what eventually became this blog.

Yes the title is from XKCD, and no I'm not particularly proud of it.

I've resisted creating a blog for a long time. I've always felt that there is something incredibly narcissistic about the belief that people care about the videos, articles, and webcomics you've been enjoying lately. Coming from me, that's quite the statement.

It seems, though, that my cold-gaze of disapproval has done little to stop this burgeoning exporter of ego. And god dammit, I can't allow that sort of ego-gap to develop. It seems my old strategy of reeking superiority is no longer sufficient for a Web 2.0 world. So blogging world, prepare to be blown.
